Caribbean Days

About Caribbean Days

My family and I spend the majority of the Swedish winter months on Bequia, an amazing little island in the Caribbean. At 4 pm it's pool time. I float around in my pool chair with a good book and a glass of cold white wine. I spend mornings in my little garden picking flowers, fruits and herbs. The house is surrounded by sounds of dogs barking, chickens making noise and goats screaming, sounding almost like a human. The whole island is very friendly and safe. St. Vincent, or "mainland" as they call the main island, is considerably more hysteric. The traffic is more energetic and the people have something hunted in their eyes - just like home in Sweden. After a trip to the main island, I stumble back to my island exhausted; longing for my house and my book.
